A Lady in Leather (seats)

As I mentioned in yesterday's post which reviewed my 2001 Honda Accord, I hate leather seats. I do, I really, really, just do. There are several reasons for my distaste of this material, which, it must be said, is generally a buy-word for both quality and luxury. Why Honda thought that people would want such a nice material in their reasonably priced, very economical car is beyond me. But obviously they had the right of it, because clearly they made their cars with a leather option, and I have "enjoyed" the fruits of their labor. Don't get me wrong, I love leather in some things. Leather jackets, chaps, boots, watch bands, etc. are fine; great, even! Leather seats without temperature controls were invented by someone who hated humanity and wanted them to suffer. So, if you're affluent enough, you can get leather seats in your car with gadgets attached that relieve most of the issues with the seats. But I'm not one of those people, so I'm going to complain, probably at great length, about the leather seats in my reasonably priced car. Let me explain the problem through the artistic medium of a beautiful composition I created in Microsoft Paint:
As you can see, the leather burns your skin off in the summer, and causes frost bite in the winter. To sum this up, leather seats are great when they have temperature controls, or if you live in a place that is constantly 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Under either or both of those conditions, you should feel free to buy a vehicle with the kind of seats that tell other human beings that you've not only done well for yourself, but also, and more importantly, that you've done better than them. However, if you, as do I, live in a place with a little something I like to call "weather," go for the cloth seats. Your skin will thank you for it.
